With a name like Tinkerbell, there is every expectation that this sweet girl would tip-toe her way to the perfect forever home. And that’s just what she did in January, with her new family following up with us to say, “Things are going great with Tinkerbell. She and our other dog are getting along well and she seems very happy.” That’s what we like to hear!

Hello Sunshine Corgi Rescue!

Our family is quickly approaching the 1 year anniversary of rescuing Tinkerbell (who now goes by Tink or Tinker!), who came to us through your organization on January 2nd of this year. With our first Christmas with her under our belts, we were feeling particularly lucky to have her, and thought we would send you all a little update. She celebrated her 10th birthday with us in October, and although we were apprehensive about adopting an older dog at first, any concerns we had were moot – she has all the energy of a puppy and then some! She and our younger corgi, Piper, have always been more roommates than best friends, but have learned to live together peacefully and happily… we can even occasionally catch them snuggling together on a really good day.

Tink spends most of her days going on long walks, ripping up plush dog toys in the house, going on adventures to local trails, and playing frisbee. She’s also happy to get some belly rubs on the couch on a lazy day. All in all, I think she is enjoying her time in her “retirement home” as much as we have enjoyed having her. She is happy and as healthy as can be. I’ve attached a couple of pictures of her for fun as well (she is the one with the wider white stripe running between her eyes).

Thank you for helping Tink find her way to us. We love her so much and can’t imagine life without her. The work you do is important and so appreciated. Best wishes to SCR in 2019!
